The Hudson Truck is DONE !

Better watch out Dave. Somebody may see the hulk in your "yard" and haul it off to make into a street rod. Seriously, great job.

What type of road bed do you use?

I have used cork exclusively on my On30 modules. Our HO, club layout standard is cork but I did use WS foam roadbed on some sidings on my logging line portion of the club layout. As others have stated, "the foam is easy to work with on small radii. Haven't seen any deterioration of either the...

Disused Coaling Station - photo intense

Hi Jeff: I like your "bashing" efforts much better than the shiny plastic of the, as delivered, model. That must have been some wind storm that peeled the roof back. Now we need a on site picture with weeds, brush and pigeon droppings.

    Water

As others have mentioned, Envirotex for ponds and other still water. Works great, but needs a well sealed undersurface. I tried Woodland Scenics, Realistic water but it took so long to cure that I had dust specks embedded in the surface and it seemed to be slightly sticky to the touch for...

What era draws your attention the most?

I like the early 1900's. Primarily because I'm into logging RR's and smaller steam. My dad was a streetcar motorman during that time period, which adds some interest.

    Ebay & A*&&holes !!

With reference to the term "Galloping Goose" as used on this thread, I believe most folks are thinking Rio Grande Southern RR railcars. The term is in fact a generic term used for various gas/diesel railcars and even small steam mixed trains which were used on shortlines and branchlines...

    Power Pack question

I'll have to go along with MRC for DC operation. I have an approximately 20 year old MRC, Tech II that is still doing the job for basicly the same situation that you have. Our club layout uses four MRC Tech 4's as power when the system is operating on DC and they have been very dependable for...

    Garage Layout

Let the foam fly. Cut and hack and shape. Great to see you making progress. I think those early Tyco trainsets must have done more harm to the MR hobby than good. I wonder how many adults, today, have bad memories of them and never want to go back to the hobby?

    Glueing Foam Board to Benchwork

I wouldn't suggest Gorilla Glue for two reasons. (1) Expense (2)It expands during the cure cycle. If not tightly clamped it will ooze out of the layers. Gorilla Glue is great stuff for woodworking.

What can I say? That's life. Sorry I can't offer a better explanation. Those dog's can an expensive companion. I estimate that I spent over 2500 bucks on one dog during his lifetime.

    Glueing Foam Board to Benchwork

Sometimes cheaper is better, sometimes it ain't. I've had problems with some "less expensive" (cheap) caulking guns. Good luck.

Overall, I think digital camera's are pretty sturdy. All of those internal levers, close tolerence parts and real glass lenses in the old cameras were subject to damage too. (from experience) My son dropped a lense from my Pentax on the floor. Not good. Of course, the heavy, metal bodies made a...

Yeah, Some sort of reinforcement is a necessity. You could glue the paper to cardstock. I've used a spray adhesive and it seems to work well.
