    Michigan Coal and Salt Mining??

I know that there is/was a large amount of both in the Mid-Michigan region. Does anyone know of a FREE resource that would supply me with more information so I can add it to my layout? It would appear that Pere Marquette, in addition to several other non-railroad ventures, owned a few, and...

    The Mother Lode

Thank you for your purchase. :thumb: I will dig through what I have left and see if I have any others. If I do, I will let you know. If not, don't fret as my father in law is going to be giving me a bunch more of the Ambroid kits, there may be more coming soon. Matt

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

I don't know if Kiddieland still has it running, but they had the 14" guage live steam engine too. That was an awesome replica of a NYC Hudson with some liberties taken with the colors. I live within an hour of kiddieland, and in all the times I have gone past it, I have yet to see the steamer...

    MRC "Sounder" Install??

I picked up a couple of the MRC sound only decoders to put into my bachmann spectrum steam engines. Has anyone installed these before? Has anyone programmed them before? Should I just get rid of them before I open the package? Matt

When Is It Enough...OR Too Much?

If you have ever had a contractor add square footage to your Basement so you can add more main line run, too much... If your kids/grandchildren look at you and have to think of your name but you are greeted by first name at your LHS, too much...

    The Regression of Model Railroading

This is a great discussion. There is a song called "Time Marches On". It is true in every aspect of life, to include commerce. We are living in the digital world now. There is not a major store, be it grocery, shopping mall, whatever that does not have a website. This promotes a different...

Building a 40s auto transport Truck

Having been a truck driver for the past few years (it is not my calling, but it pays the bills when I am healthy enough to do it). I can squarely say that many late model trucks are factory equipped with split glass and visors. Peterbuilt, Some Kenworth models, and Freightliner all have...

    The Regression of Model Railroading

I find myself in agreement with you, to a degree. Just look at the magazine itself. Model Railroader magazine from 20 years ago was just getting to the meat and potatoes on the page that the same magazine now ends at. I think that the hobby has evolved with the changing demands of the...

    The Mother Lode

I wonder if that is by location or something like that, that would effect the cost. Shipping, for me, is far cheaper using USPS. Followed by a very distant second being FedEx.

I am less suprised with these numbers. Previously I had been somewhat in shock as the numbers were close to 50/50.

    Super layout..!!!

His layout has been featured a number of times in MRR. That layout is a thing of greatness. If recall, he has never set foot on US soil. If he does, and I mentioned this in his guest book, he has an open invitation to visit my paltry layout and join in an operating session. I would love to...

I have listed a bunch of these on Ebay, with more listings to come in the next few days. If you go to the Auctions forum you will find the links. http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162582 Some of them I was smart enough to give them a title before the link  Matt
