A Money Making Idea That Keeps Popping Into My Head

Every so often I run across "barrel trains" like the one I posted about in my previous thread, "A Train Of A Different Sort," and other train related carnival type rides. I found a website about a year ago that builds trackless trains. http://www.tracklesstrainsales.com/train.html I keep...

    Trains Of A Different Sort

The second you can see in the background of the barrel train pics. A nice little wooden number for the kids' playtime fun. That's my daughter in the engine and my wife in the background. I dunno who the guy is by the tanker car. He happened to be leaning there when I snapped the pic and...

    Trains Of A Different Sort

Having the rare day off together, the wife and I took our daughter to the local apple orchard yesterday for an afternoon of quality family time. While we were there we spotted two beauties. (Thank the Good Lord for cell phones w/cameras. :D ) First was the orchard's barrel train. This one...

    Metal Wheels

Well, my big concern is matching the diameter of the wheels so it doesn't raise or lower the cars to the point where the couplers don't line up with the engine.

OK... I Admit It.... I'm Cheating.

When you got yours, how well did the inside tray line up? I suppose being already painted they had trimmed up everything nice and neat but the unpainted one is going to take some work.

    Another Layout Thread

Honestly, I really like both of them but something about the second one does seem to have more natural "flow" to it.

    Metal Wheels

Most of you know I ended up with an Athearn Satna Fe passenger set recently. More specificly this one: http://www.ehobbies.com/ath10031.html I want to replace the plastic wheels on the trucks with metal ones. I don't like plastic wheels and I think it makes these otherwise excellent...

OK... I Admit It.... I'm Cheating.

Jeeze, guys! Don't worry! It's going to get painted! sign1 On a sadder note, I paid an extra 35 dollars to have the guy build my trestle bridge and UPS destroyed it. I tried to take it apart and rebuild it from scratch but only broke more pieces and made matters worse. I'd call the guy...

It's made from polystyrene. There is a separate piece on the inside that is molded with the inclines and there are openings in the back to have access in case of derailments or crashes. Here is the website of the manufacturer: http://www.terrainfortrains.com

I'm pretty sure that's what they based it on. :D

I will be. Not sure how often I will get in to post them but I will keep a running log on my computer to update when I get the chance. My buildings are about 1/2 done and I've got several trees already made. Woodland Scenic pigment has been bought for dying the mountains along with two...

OK... I Admit It.... I'm Cheating.

I suppose some might have been wondering what was up with all my questions about Western buildings and N scale people. Had a garage sale a few weeks ago and got rid of a bunch of old stuff. Sold off a bunch of old speakers, power amps and a mixing board that I wasn't using and got a really...

Testor's Modeling Glue- The Wrong Stuff?

I'm putting together some N scale buildings made with Polyurethane. I figured regular old Testor's modeling glue would work fine for gluing them together but I am having no luck at all getting any sort of bonding out of it. I cleaned the models before gluing them so there's no residue. Am I...

I Don't Know What It Is

But I think I want one. I have no idea what this contraption is. It was sitting in our railyard this morning when I went by. I wish I had a better pic but all I had was my cellphone.
