    Whats wrong with Atlas Turnouts¿

I've read that Atlas has a QC problem, and that the switches are easy to pick, and easy to short.

    So what has happened here?

Looks tends to like someone moved a unit w/o moving a chock... However, if it WAS a chock, it SHOULD be BLUE. It's probably a re-railer. Trains pop wheels all the time, sadly enough. In any case, they're SD70ACe's. EMD is still "based" in La Grange. The plow, road number "4341(GMDX 1007)"...

I'm going to say yes. The blower house is designed to blow air into the furnace. You might be able to get away with having one blower house between 2 furnaces though.

    Kato SD40 sideframe removal

Huh, I've never pried the sideframes off of my Kato SD40. However, if it is anything like my Kato Dash 9's... Keeping the truck upside down, you'll need to pry off the bottom plate to the truck first. The side frames should then slide off. Be careful though, as you'll expose the gears!

MTH HO DCC Compatiability and DCS

It's the Union Pacific heritage fleet, not BNSF. Sounds like I may have to replace the decoder with a Tsunami, if I should decide to buy the MTH SD70ACe. Great article though. One question, not sure if was covered. Could you configure the volume with DCS then program it to run on DCC, with...

My birthday present from my wife, Kato SD40-2! Also, I've been working on this Walthers Difco dump car. I've weathered it with Tamiya chalks so far, and some drops of Gouache, however, "Burnt Sienna" is too light for the car's weathering. Here's the "inspiration car"...

    On Track, with Deano

Ah-ha! I knew I had notes somewhere on the AC4400/C44AC-CTE, go figure it was on my own site, in an article I wrote! #6344 received the full stripe, but no yellow. #6361 received Union Pacific lettering on the long hood, and a road number patch, but other wise stayed in SP colors...
