    Posable Courser (Warhorse)

I've finished building the final prototype components; adding a saddle and a rider. The rider you may recognize as the female protagonist; she is from the print candidate, although built in this instance at 1:50 instead of 1:35. The Courser figure should be ready early in the week, after which...

    Posable Courser (Warhorse)

Honestly, I think that is half the reason I am still making new models. I get terribly bored quite quickly and if I were not pushing boundaries and tweaking designs I'd not be in the game (it certainly isn't for the (somewhat less than ) lucrative profits!). Here are some early...

    Posable Courser (Warhorse)

Well with the Female Protagonist out of the way, I've had time to sit still and finish the textures for this project. The results look great in model view, but only a print-test will ensure the shades and highlights are leveled correctly. The mane and tail will assemble very similarly to the...

    warhammer Land Rider

The ONLY comment I can make: When can I get my hands on one?! Seriously the best 40K vehicle paper model I've seen to date. Excellent work! Tirick

Paper Protagonist - Female - WIP

The Female Protagonist is now released! This release is somewhat different from prior releases as the base figure is released separate from the Warrior Maiden outfit. This will allow me to make and release future outfits at a lower price, as well as reduce duplication between sets. Both are...

Paper Protagonist - Female - WIP

Well for the first time I've build a 1:35 prototype, and I must say, I have a new favorite scale! The female build process went very smoothly. While there are way more parts than previous releases, and the build time is increased slightly for it, the difficulty of the build is diminished...

    warhammer Land Rider

I've found with rounded bits that laminating layers of cardstock and cutting when they are about 2-3 thick works the best. More cutting, but cleaner edges. Really helped on the legs for the Sentinel (one of those pesky projects in front of this one). Tirick.

    warhammer Land Rider

I cannot wait to finish up some projects and build up one of these bad-boys. It is unbelievable the level of detail you've layered onto this, mate. Awesome!

Paper Protagonist - Female - WIP

Well the female protagonist (I think I might call the first release 'Warrior Maiden') is complete, save for final printing and fit-testing. I may yet add a helmet, but I don't feel strongly about it. I've added an interesting assortment of weaponry, and the laminar nature of the design should...

That is awesome! Will you be providing texture maps for recolors? thank you, Tirick

    Paper Protagonist

When I started on the design I had thought the same. The most common warhorse was the courser, which was nothing like the monsters we think of when imagining warhorses on the medieval era. In reality, they were about the size of a standard riding mare of today. One of the British museums, can't...

    Paper Protagonist

Thank you! I have lots of future plans for these figs, only time is a limiter. I love plastics and metal, but the inability to get a pose or outfit I wanted was a primary motivator in the design of these. Tirick

Paper Protagonist - Female - WIP

Progress! Now that the main body is textured, I suspect the rest of the figure will go a little smoother. Clothing usually has clearer lines and shadow/highlights than the human body. I am very happy with the face. While the hair is not complete yet, I have a clear plan which aught to work...

That is amazing mate, and totally worth the wait. Tirick

    Posable Courser (Warhorse)

I had shown shots of the corrected Courser in my Protagonist thread, but while we are on the topic of updates, here it is again: The design changes worked very well, and I've moved onto designing the textures. The process is slow; I had every intention of completing this for March...

Paper Protagonist - Female - WIP

So.... Wow. I really let too much time slip between projects. Maybe I just have too many projects. Nah, that can't be it... Anyway. Minor (minor) update. Got started finally on texturing this lady. I have the hip and torso mostly finished and hope to have the whole of the body done in the...

    Warhammer Fantasy Player

There are a lot of free 'standee' style (2d card) miniatures that would probably fit the bill. I design (and sell) 3d poseable figurines that might work for humans in Warhammer Fantasy but they'd be a little big, scaled for 35mm instead of 28mm. You could probably scale it down, but it would...

    17th Century Naval Cannon

The diorama is now complete, using a bit of thin thread, embroidery floss and parts from the Man at Arms and Expansion. Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with the result (although its used up my 'store' of pre-built figurine components). I've a large collection of images, although I'll...

    17th Century Naval Cannon

The Naval cannon, complete with fittings, tools and emplacement, is now available in the TCF Gaming store. In the next week or so I plan to put together a proper diorama with some of the display options. I don't have 'duck' trousers modeled yet to show figurines with, but I imagine the tunic and...

    My Bane Blade...thanks Patoroch

I use Elmers myself, although I apply it with an old fine-detail brush. It can for certain bleed through if you are not careful, or if you leave too much on the model, but for the most part I've found it holds for years without fail. Not tried the Scotch quick-dry though. Why kind of applicator...
