Hi Friends.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was an unusual British fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Called “turret fighter” or fighter with a tower. The idea that led to its concept was to create a fighter plane that, instead of having fixed armament, had its armament concentrated in a turret that could fire in many directions without having to point the entire plane in the direction of the shots. Interestingly, contrary to what is normal in a fighter, it could not shoot forward. Despite having some initial success, German pilots quickly began to exploit its weaknesses, which led to it being quickly withdrawn from daytime fighter missions. Despite this, he was successful as a night fighter and in other types of less dangerous missions.
The fact that the model publisher never put an accessory with the tower's “glass” on sale meant that there were very few assembled models, due to the great difficulty in molding the glass. The model comes with a piece to serve as a matrix that I used to create the mold for the glass. Well, I thought the hardest part was done, unfortunately there are many pieces that fit together badly and that's why I ended up choosing to assemble it using the simplest pieces that the model offers (in this model we can choose to assemble it in various levels of difficulty and detail).
It is a model that could be very good but is only average due to the poor fitting of several parts.
The photographs show a brief summary of the assembly and the finished model of the Defiant in 1:33 scale.
