    printer question

Not sure about model range and brands availability of the same process... My model, when connected in electricity (even when turned off) runs some "spit aside" procedure here and there depending on how long you do not print anything. If i had to guess, i'd say i notice it or it jump-scares...

    printer question

for comparison- basically same range with my Brother mentioned above - prices for central europe - 237,- euro (full duplex model with scanner), ink being around 7e per CMY (5000 pages, 5% coverage), 8e per black (6000p) -- Don't know what type the mentioned Canon runs, my Brother is water based...

    printer question

Make sure to search the internet for your operating system + printer compatibility (forums dicussing specific model problems etc) when you narrow down the choice! Friend of mine got `Canon TS 8300`, and the SOB printer does NOT work properly on Windows 11 - repetive problems with applications...

    printer question

Very happy user of https://www.brother.com.ph/en/products/all-printers/printers/dcp-t720dw I've printed dozens of models/e-books/etc. on inkjet friendly paper, 80 to 200 gsm weights, xerox full-page sticker papers, or Brother/Canon inkjet photo papers - all looking great. The cost per page if...

Warhammer 40k - Union monitor tank (patoroch)

not much of a skill i'd say - all thanks to glue consistency, thickness & not ovedose-ing it. great go-to choice for central europe paper modellers - "Herkules" (made by Druchema) - universal dispersive glue - not affiliated, just saying :-)

Warhammer 40k - Union monitor tank (patoroch)

I took quite a long papercrafting break. Now i wanted to do something fairly simple, and test water colour edges painting for the first time... I stumbled upon interesting Warhammer 40k group on facebook - lots of free models, might sratch the itch for sci&fi + miliatry people. I typically dont...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

Just a tiny progress, second wheel + axle - mounted to hull. Axle was a bit of pain in the hull - diameter of 12mm, 200gsm paper making it a bit cumbersome to curve it for closure. I found some 10mm diameter piece of wood at home as a helper for gluing, and did a bit squished pipe in the end...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

Yesterday's progress, one of the sidewheels... Surprisingly smooth to assemble and not that tricky despite lots of edges to be colored for less distrubing look. Blades of the wheel here show the paper i used is probably way too thick for 180' folds -> teeth and chunks start to show despite...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

I bought Black Pearl into backlog (from semi-local supplier, not the direct creator's link i pasted here on the left), with laser-cut parts (older full set including window frames etc) + cloth sails (mast set wasnt available at the time of order). So I definitely will try higher league when i...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

Only small progress today, finished the hull. for the first recent ship attempt - could be worse :) Not sure how different paper weights would behave -> i used 200 gsm, and hull sides feel a bit wimpy, maybe even more heavy could be used... (not sure if up to 300 gsm). one thing that i noticed...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

right, i was thinking about cutting off the black lines, but was afraid of how to compensate... do you mean you reduce/cut down the framing size as well? or add some strip on the hull to cover the summed up removed black lines...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

Time has come to bid farewell to straight joints, seamless lines, and similar advanced mumbo jumbo. I keep telling myself i'm doing this for the experience, not beauty contest... :p Some hull parts couldn't reach the edges they should due to tension of the braces. Despite trying to go slow, some...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

no lamination done (yet) -> I don't have experience with this process. I've read on some hair spray usage either on paper sheets before cutting or on final model, but still didn't get to the process itself. Definitely would be nice to have better final resistance of model to manipulation...

    Paddle Steamer (Sidewheeler)

Finished the base (pattern cut from 3 whole pages in total). Started first points of the instructions -> internal frame. It looks quite rigid and nicely thought through. I do not have comparison/experience with other models yet though. S far the boring/not graphically pleasing part, but...
