I like it when finding older threads that the links still work. Nothing worse than thinking great this sounds cool and then getting a website not found.
Perhaps armour pages last longer :-)
that is just too good.
mind you I see a lot of models in all materials that I think is so fantastic I could never do it, then after a little effort and attempts it starts to get there.
So if I read that right most of the model was fro 160gsm paper (I've got 200 so it should be fine) and the parts in the pdf that state card stock was for 0.5mm card.
Correct ? Or near enough ?
Seeing pictures of completed dreads does tempt me somewhat
You say you used 1mm thick card, did this cause any additional problems such as folds and shaping ?
Wondering if 0.5mm may work easier (for me at least).
Yes it is a great list and I should be more humble and appreciative of the work others have done . But I was after more flyers. The templates for the Ork fighta and fighta-bomma that I've found are ok but if there were any better ones and perhaps the full on bomma or blast-bomba. Then...
Old thread but a decent question.
Like most people never had the option of buying all the models I wanted so you develop a mind set of being frugal when buying. These days I have a bit more money to spend but because of the ingrained culture of only spending after very careful thought it means...
yeah I second that. where did you get such a sheet of plastic from ? Looks like it was an old advertising sheet or something.
also if possible how thick was it ?
I've considered using plasticard but due to cost that I'd need to buy it at and the wastage due to mistakes (always make a mistake...
The problem with a list so long is never having enough time to build everything you want to try.
I've been bitten by the bug to play 40K scale AI. Local club has had a few games with some FW and a few paper/card models. Problem with the FW is cost and they aren't really great for moving around...
I'll try my best, done a prrof of concept thunderbolt and marauder. Currently part way through a thunderhawk but it's a lot of work.
Then plan to go back and do them properly with thicker card etc.
If only I didn't have to work
Just joined the forum, was a paper model maker from old and was searching for W40K items and this came up alot so joined up.
started on a few items, mainly looking at flyers for use in large scale AI games
