    What's Your Winter Goals?

    1. Finish the Arbour HO 2-6-6-6 Allegheny kit I started several years ago. (found at a flea market) 2. Add the second phase to my n scale layout 3. Finish remodeling the house we bought, and get my mother in law moved into it. I think # 3 will end up the...

    cleaning of engine motor

I would dissassemble and clean it. Soaking it in a solution might damage the insulation on the coils, may not clean all the gunk out, and destroy any lubrication. Lots of times, the main culprit in Lionel, AF, Marx, and other 'toy' train loco's is carpet fiber, pet hair and household dust...

1/32 Bell XP-59 Airacomet is Available

Looks to be a fine model--hope y'all post some pix of your finished projects. Gonna get me one, too. Don't know when I'll find time for it though...just bought another house for my mother-in-law...major rehab project coming up.

    Happier Model Building

I make models of the planes we restore out at the musuem for the restoration crews--I'm just finishing up a Brewster SB2A Buccanneer, recolored and added ski's to the 'Que Sera Sera', R4D that landed at the south pole in 1956. Creating a JD-1 and Coronado right now, for their eventual roll out...

    Payment and file transfer options

Paypal--by far my favorite for any web purchases--pdf downloads are good--although I don't mind the wait for hard copies. Priority mail within the US is the best bet for delivery...first class or parcel post can take a while and get bashed around. From overseas or Canada--airmail. Don't mind...

    Models with Moving Parts?

For a method of hinging flight controls--check out this: http://www.kancho.muncho.org/rotate.html Also check out his robotics page. He used to have an articulated hand that he designed on one of the pages--but I'm not sure if it still is there.

    New releases

If anyone is curious about the other bits of support equipment in the maintenance scene--they can be found here, in the part's bin, under aircraft and aviation. From time to time, we'll be creating new bits of GSE to complement the models.

From a new client just coming in...

He also worked as a mattress tester. When I was a Kid--it was one of my favorites......for those of you of an age: Shmoo's, Moonbeam McSwine, Fearless Fosdick, Joe Btsxzflk (I doubt I spelled that one right), Hammus Alabamus. Beautiful women and goofy looking men....all residing in Dogpatch.

    Princess Mononoke

In this day of ready made and disposable--it's a rare dad who'll take the time and effort (and love) to do something really unique for his kid. I nominate you for HERO OF THE WEEK.

Tank found in working order after 57 years underwater!

Cold oxygen poor water/silt is an excellent preservative. The warship "Vasa" was removed from Stcokholm harbor, nearly intact, after almost 400 years' entombment. Lots of the planes at the museum, here, came from the bottom of Lake Michigan. The only survivinrg Brewster Bufffalo was recovered...

What are you working on NOW!!?

In a lake--in Russia--it was an export model flown by Finland, during their war with the soviet Union. Great story: http://broadcast.illuminatedtech.com/display/index.cfm?bp=131
