Best damned paper snorkel I've ever seen!! In all honesty, that does not have the appearance of being anything but a snorkel. Not made of "this" or "that", but a snorkel. :)

oops... I got into building the snorkel and while assembling, had to paint parts... and next thing I know... it was finished... Sorry... but I will say this it was created using the paper roll from cotton swabs, wrapped with typing paper for the thickness, built on a .5mm wire lots of cursing and trying to find the fiddly bits I kept on dropping. There is a U bracket still around here somewhere but it TOTALY disappeared after being dropped for the umpteen time! Someone will find it someday, but I looked for 2 hrs and still didn't find it!

NOT glued in as there are far too many parts to add beforehand!

If someone REALLY wants to know HOW I built this ... I can do a small tutorial ... just have to ask for it!

I still can't believe that this is paper! Fantastic job!

Finally had the time and inclination to get back to this, and had to do all the monotonous stuff!

Got all the teeth cut and bent and stuck on and the 4 bolts for each one, almost put it aside but wanted to get it done as it is just about finished but the assembly of the parts!
Here is a side view of the rear wheels ( only 1 showing ) and look closely you can see the fuel lines running to the engine under the tanks and the glass fuel filter.

Here is a 3/4 view of the same... with rear fenders and seat area...

3Quarter-wheel.jpg

Also had time on the engine cover louvers and got them done... scratch build ( dumped the other ones) they are cut long to adjust as needed...
got the hinges done 2 sets per each side. Still, the electrical to place...that's going to take some time, if I can get the shakes to go away long enough!!!

Next Time!

Another small update...
Fitting Hood and Louvers...Test FIT...As far as I can tell there is not a way of mounting the hood to the body, at least in this model. I will have to work out something as it is difficult to open the louvers while trying to hold the hood in place! Figure it will take just some small bits of tubing and insert the hinge wire on both ends, should do it...Got the room and seems logical.

Test fit without the louvers attached ( want to burnish the hood into better shape, before glue up! Hinges for the louvers can be seen lower right.
Hood-LouversTest.jpg
A quick view of hood dropped on to show hinge in place...
Hood-Hinge.jpg
More ..as it gets done!

Shame turning to hero worship and inspiration. I wanna be as good as that! The next year will be attempting to raise my skills to the new standard you have set! Your work on this is evil supreme!

I wanted to build this model to give to my brother in law who has a 13 acre farm, and is a real farmer. I have lost all motivation after seeing this masterpiece. :nailbiting:

Spaceagent9 you are fantastic in what you do, and how you have improved over time has amazed me. Gandolf is, well, Gandolf! It's a pleasure to have him here, and he has taught all of us. I will be building that model, but it will be much simpler, though, after seeing his, it will be heavily influenced. I still have to build a roof for my house first!! ;)
