Hi Folks:wave:

I'm just getting started in model railroading. My interest is in the transition from steam to diesel (circa late 30's to early fifties). I am particularly interested in re-creating a rail yard in the town of Ryderwood, WA, which was a large logging camp where my grand-dad was a machinist. I know what some of the locos were, but need help finding information on the yard trackage, and perhaps some of the grades to the logging sites and into the mills in Longview, WA. Anyone have any info of the area and era? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks

Thanks Jim...do you think the forest service would have records of such also? I don't think I could get any old company records, as Long-Bell Lumber has been defunct for a good many years...

Hi there...I just joined and saw your post about Ryderwood. I am also interested in recreating the rail yard there. My wife's grandfather was an engineer on that rail line. We have pictures of the engine but not of the rail yard. looking forward to working with you.
