The Gauge backup

To all members:

You will likely see similar threads to this in the other forums so all of you have the opportunity to know that we have a back up way of communicating with each other if The Gauge goes down.

We have a Gauge Google Group. Those that haven't signed up yet should. This may be our only means of communication sometimes if the forum is down or being serviced or updated. Please, if you haven't registered for the Gauge Google group, now is the time to do it. Otherwise you may not know what's going on. No one says we'll know, but this way you at least stand a chance.

Here's the link: http://groups.google.com/group/The-Gauge

There is also a chat - you can find several members, often including a moderator or two, there most nights around 10pm Eastern - http://www.pliner.net/appchat/145691/

I tried to sign up for this but was denied????
Sorry, but this old Google group has being abandon and a new group is forming. There hasn't been a new post on this old group for years and I'm not sure anyone else even knows about it so it will probably be shut down soon. There is another similar group on Yahoo that has even less interest and is no longer under control of anyone here.

BTW, I think your application for membership was denied because no one new has registered there in years and it appeared from your email address that you could be there as a spammer. But it wouldn't matter anyway since there is no reason to continue the group.

Just for the record, this Google group has be discontinued. It was started back when the train forum was actually, the-gauge.com, but basically it no longer had any meaning when all the different forums were merged here and had no activity since then. Since those of us that started it are no longer on the staff here, we felt it best to just render it inactive. I would suggest that if a backup forum is necessary, that someone start one on Google or Yahoo for everyone on Zealot, not just the train group.

Thanks!!! I remember the old Gauge Days! Robin passing in 05. Was that the beginning of the end? Last time I was on was 08 under a different screen name but computer went down and couldn't remember anything so Lately due to circumstances I decided it was time to return. I loved this place but it is no longer the same. No where near!!! Where have they all gone? I read the thread about this place being dead and followed the link posted by Sawdust and that seams more like the old Gauge. TWP What a shame for an archive like there is here (is it) to now just sit and go to waist.
Again Thanks!!!
