The main components were made of various wooden rods and card. A great concept by a fine artist!

It looks quite interesting! It looks like it would make for an easy but complex model. Easy, in the respect that there are no compound curves. Complex in the respect of all of the angles and little greebled parts. I could see @D-WHALE take on something like this as a new design project!
