Good Afternoon Everybody,

my name is Kamil and I was interested in paper crafting in my youth. Then there was a 25 years gap and I found the magic of it again.

I hope to share some good experience with you all here about the paper crafting.

Lately I finished Transformer Bumble Bee and Millennium Falcon. Now I'm working on Iron Man Mark VII.24909882_10215214109854345_1598431353930282040_n.jpg

WOOOW!!!

These look great!!!

Thank you very much for posting these and for your interesting introduction. We rarely see the face behind the nick, so this intro is somewhat special. (If you dig around long enough you might see some other faces as well, including mine. ;) )

I heartly welcome you to the forum!

We have many members from Poland and many SciFi fans here. I'm a big BSG and Buck Rogers fan from Germany, BTW. ;)

Take care, have fun and enjoy! :)

Hi Marcell,

thank you very much for the welcome call :). After reading so much here about BSG I have to watch the series definitely. I love Star Wars and Serenity (desperately waiting for B@F to finish his great model of Firefly (it is done but not textured yet)). So when I finish the Iron Man I'd like to build X-Wing either from Imcold or Uhu02.

Have a nice Evening.

Welcome aboard, Kamil. Nice to see your work.

If you look at my avatar, that is NOT me sitting on the wing of the airplane. That is a Gee Bee racer from the 1930s.

Hello Kamil,

Welcome to Zealot. If I may be so bold to ask; What part of the Czech Republic are you from. I lived in Prague for about three years and thought that the city was beautiful. I also greatly enjoyed the food as well.

Thank you for posting a sample of your work. I must commend you on a fine job well done on those models! You did an OUTSTANDING JOB on them all! Everything looks clean, crisp and clear.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, need help your advice, please feel free to ask and we will do what we can to help you (or at least point you in the right direction).

When you start a new project, I would like to encourage you to start a build thread. Build threads are a great way to show off your work and skills. Not only that, but you can highlight problem areas that you may need help with or show a solution that you have come up with to solve or deal with that problem or issue.

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you enjoy yourself here. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you for welcome subnuke and Rhaven Blaack.

@Rhaven Blaack: I'm from the absolutely oposite part of Czech Republic south Moravia. I'm glad that you liked my country :). Thank you for the kind words about the models. The pictures are not very high quality so probably all the imperfections are hidden ;).

When I'm done with Iron Man I'll try to start a build thread.

Have a nice day...

Welcome to the forum!! Nice to see new faces ( literally);).. Great work There!

Back in the days they didn't call it "imperfections" but "battle-damage". ;) :D

and now we have taken to calling them just GREEBLES or NERNIES! ( depends on what part of the country your from!)

Eagerly awaiting to see what you do with the X-wing!! We have several fine threads here that are devoted solely to the x-wing and all the various ways people have approached building it!!
As I always say..
" If you need help, or have questions.. Just ask we are always happy to help!"
Have fun!

Thank You man, but from your Bumblebee and Falcon phostos posted here I can say your skills are surely there. It is not so hard as it looks. If you decide for Imcold and want to detail it I can gladly provide my experience learnt from my mistakes:). I hid all the imperfections under tons of details, that is the trick:).

Wish you all nice Evening.

Kamil,

Welcome to Zealot! You'll find that are among kindred spirits here. I completely get the 25 year gap thing as I got away from modelling when I went off to school (just didn't have time, place to store stuff, etc). One of my relatives got into the card stock modelling and showed off his work then got me started.

You have done some nice work. We especially like on this forum start to finish builds that show the process of making whatever you are building (warts and all!).

BTW one of your compatriots - Jan Rukr / Alien 99 - does some work for ABC magazine in your part of the world.

Here's some of his work:

He's a master builder / designer of all sorts of stuff. He also did the paint job for the Alien Tiger MI-24 helicopter:

Look him up sometime.

Happy modeling!

Hi Sky Seeker,

thank you very much for welcome. I'm very well aware about Jan Rukr :) especially his awesome Sulaco. I've seen many times the Alien Hind but was not aware that Jan painted it. And of course I was raised on the ABC :). That is how I got to paper crafting.

You guys are so lucky. You have inherited a culture of making and doing, instead of instant gratification. It makes for smarter people, as all those who do this hobby have found out for themselves. :)

Yes the Sulaco is one Jan's huge masterpieces! Probably one of the biggest papercraft models out there. Jan is one of the most talented papermodelers out there. From the looks of what you have built you are doing pretty good as well.

Here's his Robinson model fully built.

http://www.zealot.com/threads/robinson-multi-ship-assembly.179813/

It uses magnets to hold the individual ships together as well as the small tiny ships / fighters.

Have a good day!
