That's sounds simple.I'll take a try.I didn't think of it before...

BTW Dragos, where did you get the Zero?
And,paragon.how do you connect the parts without tabs?Did you just use the method that dragos showed or something else?

i understand your frustrations with tabs especially when the model built is quite small...

sometimes we must ditch with the instrustion and improvise?

so how i do mine?

when i like and want a smooooooooo0000o00o0o0o0o0o0th surface for my models, i often dont use the same material or card as my layer subtabs.

sometimes when using the same card as subtabs, it kinda shows up as indentations even if we dont press too hard.

i often use ordinary 80 gsm paper, sometimes i laminate, sometimes i dont depends of the strength needed.

and heres a weird but nice technique i just developed:

TAB PEELING.

tab what?

yeah, most cardstock are made of two layers of laminated paper, or if it is not, all cardstock tend to peel apart when bent. see this by folding a very small corner of cardstock.

ok how does this work?

you lightly score the line where the edges of the graphic goes...

then you bend the tab a bit an pull off from the edges, start from where you scored...

be careful as you might rip off all of the tab.

now you have a nice 'furry' surface on the tab and that tab is much thinner.

now you can glue together now.

now if you like to strengthen it by laminating thin paper, its ok.

I've colored two versions of the IAI Lavi now, a white and blue prototype, and a camo version that is supposedly what it would have looked like in service. Both include alternate canopies, for one or two seat configuration. I was going to build the camo version, but the printhead on my printer can't use red for some reason, making the camo version turn out very green. The white and blue version version however looked fine (with the exception of the little red triangle beneath the cockpit), so I built it instead. Constrution is pretty simple, and I was able to finish in between an 1 and 2 hours, even on percocet. Anyway, here are images:

A lot of people have speculated that the Chinese J-10 Chengdu was actually a continuation of the Lavi design, purchased from Israel. While there are undoubtedly striking similarities, I have to say that having designed and built models of each from scratch, it doesn't seem likely to me that the J-10 is an adaptation of the Lavi. Subtle differences in the aircraft designs lead me to believe that while its very possible that the J-10 was based on some of the research that went into the Lavi's design, the Chinese designers did not utilize the Lavi airframe, and fabricated a completely new one.

Here are some images of the two side by side, in approximately the same scale:

ahhhhh...

for the longest frkking time, my search for this twins have been fruiltess...

ahm par, could you FTL to me the 2 models in 1/72 scale?

a nice gift for my wings over europe flight buddies.

i would be 90 years by the time i finish all of your models..

and dont 4get the lavi twins ok?

i bet you are one of the damaged cylon models like tyrel. like him you are so frakkingly good with your models...

well not all cylons are bad, only the damaged ones, and not all modeler makers are like you, they just cant make models as fast as you could!lol!

how many so far?

Umm...I used normal paper(A4 size)to make paragon's models and it worked out just fine, but I just want to try cardstock but I don't know what it is called in Malaysia. But if I use normal paper then the models will be like lame and easily tear apart not like cardstock.I hope someone knows what cardstock called in Malaysia. If laminating normal paper works?
