Hi Guys and Gals.

Long time lurker first time posters. I was asked by Rhaven to post up my Colonial Warrior Helmet and my Cylon Helmet after they managed to track me down on another forum. So here I am and here they are.

Warrior Lid MK2

Both these files are under revision as I learn more about 3d modelling. but here you go.

On a side preemptive note.

YES you can find these else where, even on Etsy where they are being sold. These folks are not the owners of the files. I am. I have always released them for free and will always release what I make for free. I don't see the point in profiteering of others IP. I'm not here to get into arguments about who owns what and who stole from who. I made these files about 4 yeas ago because I couldn't find there anywhere on the interwebs, Using any reference material that I could find.

Also I'm on the look out for reference imagery of an old school Cylon warrior so I can put together the rest of the armour. I Know its already out there in PDF.. but I want something scaleable :)

Hi Xaosbringer,

welcome to the forum!

I'm pretty much surprised to see that you are a member here. I have started my own version of the helmet here:

http://www.zealot.com/threads/a-battlestars-quest-aka-raiders-of-the-lost-crest.178290/

It is based on straight-on views of the Colonial Warrior's helmet and should be proportionally accurate by 98 %. The size is pretty much the same like the official prop replica. Right now I have no time to continue work on it but it is pretty much finished, aside from adding a clever standard mount that supports all the different crest symbols. The test build is still sitting beside my bed, looking at me all the time and remembering me to conclude the project. :)

I found your version by accident when I was building the mockup. My first impression:
http://www.zealot.com/threads/a-bat...s-of-the-lost-crest.178290/page-3#post-997628

;)

So it is great to meet you here (finally)! :)

BTW, your Cylon helmet is one piece of beauty and I would love to see a quick build of it.

Have fun and enjoy! :)

Hi Revell-Fan,

Thanks for the greets :) Your Lid looks great :) and your right I wasn't aware of the one you were doing, I never got past the paper stage of mine, I seldom Do. but it doesn't stop me. My garage is a graveyard of sorts for all the projects that I need to finish, and my HD is filling up with files I have still to make

The Cylon lid looks oversized But its not. I have it on good authority that the actors looked through little holes above the eye visor when looking out. I'll dig out my build pictures for it when I get a little time. (I also did a Boba-Fett cross over Cylon based on the Anovos "as you wish competition" entry back in 2012... I must get back to fixing the faults with that one.).

BTW that's a great Idea for the crests.

Thank you! :)

I know what it is like having a "full garage"; I'm giving my flat a major overhaul, this combined with everyday work slows my building speed down tremendously. ;) :D

As for references regarding the Centurion costume, this is the goto source:

Check out the gallery and thy shalt be rewarded. :)

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aw4Oq from the source so to speak.. and his main page is here http://www.pierre-drolet-sci-fi-museum.com/ hope to see some new stuff soon.. will look around and see what I can find..!

I found the site I was thinking about..sorry to say..there is nada on it that is in your area.. but there are some tutorials that help to size meshes to fit humans.. and over 700 ready to make armors and weapons but fantasy type.. so maybe someone else might find it useful also...

Very nice to have you join up!! Maybe one of the Mods or Xasobringer, could upload this to the "Resource" section? Xasobringer if you upload it, you will be able to remove it quite easily, if you ever wished too. Models in threads tend to get buried, the "Resource" parts of the forum is preserved, and safer to hosting members works, and easier to find them. ;)

These are fantastic and I would love to try building them, but when I printed them out they are rather tiny, Who would I go about scaling them up to life size?
