    Finally.

I've also come to the realization that to make a satisfying model, it will have to split up. This is where tolerance will really be tested. I could not recommend getting one of these 3D printers unless you have a strong CAD background. Even printing models that I have obtained from...

    Pzkpfw. I Ausf. A, Orlik, 1:25

A beautiful looking model. Accurate, detailed, and so perfect, as to its squareness and general appearance. I cannot see any errors. One might think this was made by a machine, except that I don't believe a machine could this so perfect. :)

    WH40K Marauder Destroyer

Very nice. I'm not a fan of this genre, but that is a good-looking ship. Who could resist that! :)

    Finally.

Well, half-way through the last model attempt, I run out of plastic. I have 2 more rolls coming in. I had really scaled it up, as the 1" inch models came out perfect. Now realizing you are better off designing your own stand-offs for support, and if you do a Hull at an angle, you can do the...

Make a little block you can run up the rear inside edge of the wings to straighten them out. :)

    SR-71 Blackbird; MP Model; 1/33

I misread your post. Ken West's model is awesome. I have not seen the model by "Answer" built, but I imagine it should be of very high quality. The models I have seen of theirs are always top-notch. ;)

    Finally.

I think if people knew how many supports have to be made for many models, and the post cutting, and sanding, they would think the ads are lies. The ads don't show all the handwork involved. I have just started a model, I'm hoping this hull will have the cockpit, two cabins, one with windows...

Ken West makes some of the very best models. Looking forward to your build. When you complete the build thread, you can post a one time link to where you got the model from.

My Lord, I hope he is O.K. It takes so much longer to heal was we get older.

    Finally.

This boat was printed using no supports or infill. This is something I have not seen done much. It was converted from NURBS to MESH and then to .STL. The surfaces as almost like glass in smoothness. What I would like to do is make the hulls in plastic, and finish the decking and bright work...

    From Plastics to Card Models

I am playing with my new 3D printer. In the time it took to make one hull, I could have made 10 out of paper. My final models will be plastic, with wood, paper, and anything else that works. If you take a piece of paper and dope it up with Crazy Glue, it becomes a composite material. 'You...
