As we all know, @Revell-Fan resized the Land Rovers from "Buck Roger in the 25th Century" to 1:50 scale (all three can be found in the resource section). I have decided to build them all for my collection. I am starting with the MK-I (armed). This version was introduced in the pilot episode "AWAKENING".
roverMkI.jpg

So, at 1:50 scale all of the parts fit on just three pages. However, I have printed the parts sheet out three times (so that I have enough parts to add details and greebles) and split the sheets in half (which gives me six pages time three).

I cut all of the doors out (and trimmed the so that there is a recessed line). I also recessed the widows and the black areas on either side of the handles for the doors. I then added a piece of cardstock where the doors go and placed the door back where they are suppose to be. I have also raised a few panels (including the vents).

I started to form the outer shell.

The outer shell is complete.

SWEET! Nice going so far. I told @Revell-Fan that you and him should collaborate on a Buck Rogers and BSG fan film.
Thank you sir! It is funny that you mention a Buck Rogers and BSG crossover. I have plans for a diorama that will have such an element in it (then again, there will be a few interesting Easter eggs all through out it).

Technically, the two shows could be from the exact same universe. There is a lot of similarity between them and they were, in essence, created by the same person.

I'm looking forward to seeing your diorama!

You are correct. There are quite a few series that Glenn Larson made that could (technically) be in the same "universe". One easily have fun with many different crossovers.

In some of my past threads, I have posted what some of the Easter eggs will be. However, I will be building the vehicles and small components first, then build the actual set afterwards.

Great start, buddy! :)

1/50 offers more possibilities for display: The models still look good and not too tiny and you are able to build up a large scale diorama which does not eat up the entire space of your living room. ;)

But that's what living rooms are for! Of course, a model I am planning on doing will take up a significant portion of my living/dining room.

I have a few different ideas for a few dioramas in mind. As for space constraints, that is one of the reasons why I have chosen 1:50 as my "go-to" scale now. With that being said, there is going to be a diorama mad in 1:32 scale at some point.

@Rhaven Blaack Maybe this would be a good time to tell your wife that you're going to need a new living room!
My fiancé and I have already discussed this in depth. She is actually very supportive and encouraging in my hobby. She is ABSOLUTLEY bewildered and amazed with what can be made and done with paper/cardstock.

It is time for another update! I am now moving on to the underside.

Here is the front underside panel with the lights. I have recessed the light panels and raised the lenses.

@Awry_Chaos Thank you very much!
There is not an interior for this model (or the other variants, that is including the BSG Landram) yet. Nor was one shown in the series. However, @Revell-Fan has plans on making and interior for it.
With that being said, I hope that this information will not stop you from binge watching the series again.

It is time for another update! I have assembled and attached all of the components for the top and side (minus the weapons system and search lights. Those will be done later).

Starting with the large blue plate. Here are the parts.
