My tip, i've cut of tabs. This is an interesting fact to come to. I've only been in the papercraft game since covid lockdown and at the start I purposefully avoided models without tabs now I'm cutting them off lol

Here's an important tip for the person who builds this next!
The saucer is not flat, it's a kind of pear drop shape, as seen with the flange at the end of the outerim (and in the pic below)
So my advice is to cut out a few of these pear shapes to add support inside the saucer. Why - cause its damn near impossible otherwise! I had a nightmare doing it last night and put it down before it threw it lol
I got the bottom shaped but the top is to flat for me to be happy, but OK enough for me to say "it's OK, move on and learn from it"

Aye, that is a tricky spot. Reminds me of the edge of my Dr Z's ship. I made a whole series of formers to keep the shape but inserting the formers could be quite a challenge due to this.
I recommend that you engage this model with full severity of interest, establish a support group and use huge cups of coffee followed by surgical tranks and long walks to compensate for PMS- [Paper Model Stress] it somewhat helps with me when I'm not quitting and binge watching supernatural on Netflix, or Marvel Comix Movies. But do keep trying, as that is the REAL purpose of paper modeling, teaching perseverance.

Something like a LP record turn table could do it, but you will have at the very least a spinning thin rod going up to the habitat ring possibly a complex system of belts and wheels hidden inside the ship could do it somehow. Or a diorama with stars on the back wall, put the rim of the habitat disc up against the star wall, have a small opening in the star wall and put all the mechanisms behind the wall and simply use a friction wheel turn the habitat ring, which will have to be made to spin like a wheel. micro motors and rattle gears could possibly do it with a direct drive micro motor and trap gear system???? i really don't know but the idea of doing that fascinates me.
Considering I enlarged an A4 to A3 and its still small all that in it would be a large ship cause the nacelles are so long! Would be cool tho!

What would be cool to do it with magnets and have the a floating disc!
