I know that there are a couple of models of the SA-43 Hammerhead Fighter, but they are not that good and not that detailed.
I would like to see someone design a GOOD DETAIL (preferably with cockpit interior) model of this plane.
I do have diagrams (and screenshots if needed) that I can (and will) share with whomever decides to take up this project.

O.O I love those, I'd be interested in the template as well.

The Hammerhead and the FFR-41MR Mave is the two air/aerospace plane models I might come around and actually build one day (if I find a decent template that is :) )

I would also appriciate a good detailed model of this beautiful fighter. (I really like the tv show.)

Another top fighter, where I have never seen a really good paper version is the Z-95 Headhunter from the Star Wars Universe. It is the predecessor of the X-Wing.

I too would like to see a good model of the Hammerhead. In fact, I would do it but I don't have time for that at the moment.

Here are a couple diagrams and shots of the cockpit interior. If need be, I can get screenshots as well.

Oh yeah, from "Space, Above and Beyond", one of the most promising series beheaded by those who know nothing about these things. Thanks!! :)

"SPACE: Above and Beyond" was indeed a very promising series. I enjoyed watching it.

The final battle in the pilot episode was and still is breath-taking. The last episode was one of the finest hours of television. I enjoyed seeing David Duchonvy in a totally different role (next to Coolio!). My favourite episode is the first part of "The best fighter of the Chigs" (dunno if it is the correct title; I re-named the episode for myself to "Never No More" because of the song that was played). In fact, the show was a pre-decessor to the New Battlestar Galactica. The look, the realism, the grittiness, the Newtonian physics - it was all there. The crew behind the scenes involved several people who worked on the old BSG and Buck Rogers. If you look carefully you will notice several explosions directly taken from Buck and BSG, stretched and distorted digitally. IIRC the scenes on Mars were shot in black and white and later digitally painted red - frame by frame! The network did not know what they had and let the show die after one season - exactly like the old BSG. Oh, and they had Kristen Cloke...

Here is a little food for thought and something to wrap your minds around.
In the series there were InVitros (Tanks). Humans that were conceived in artificial gestation chambers or tanks (from which the derogatory term "tank" derives).
There are scientists who are actually researching this technology and have been able to create frogs and mice (as well as other small animals) through this process.
It looks like Science fiction has once again influenced science reality.

Went hunting after reading this and found the original model file that is pictured..though the model was really trashed...left wing was a copy of right and just moved to the left...no cannon on r...stuff like that...So I copied r wing group and mirrored to the left and same with cannon on the r ...so have a good start! Mesh around the canopy is a disaster!!! Ever see one of those string art things ..straight strings from nain to nail and form a curve? That's how the curve was formed around the front of the canopy! Really! I am not Joking!! so that would need some work! so anyone want to take this and start a paper model!! Here you go!!
z-95.jpg
Textures need work also!!

Found an even superbly detailed one...but would take massive amounts of time to ever consider converting... it is like a detail model where engines are pulled out and exploded...and covers are open and all wiring is exposed....really nice..but too much work..no textures !! ect ect..

( Took a few hours but managed to reconstruct most of the HQ version...)

If anybody would create a paper-model of this fighter - I would be ready to do the beta build and the instruction.

Again to the Z-95: looks a little bit as the front part and the wings of the T-65. The maschines of the T-70. only the part behind the cockpit seems to be very special. In some versions also the cockbit is more the one of the ARC-170 fighter.

Maybe a kind of of kitbasching works. If no one will create the model I am sure to do one somewhen.

You guys keep coming up with interesting stuff...I just found the 2nd mesh for the Hammerhead (2nd pix from the left above...converted from the original by Stefan May in 1996/97 and converted to Lightwave in 2000 by F. Passaro the original mesh web site or mesh could not find ..but was able to grab the updated 2000 mesh. I took a quick look and yep..it's do-able! Got to find a co-op of model makers and create a workshop!!!
