• Model railroading is a hobby.
• In this hobby rail transport systems are modeled at a reduced scale, or size.
• The scale models include all rail and non vehicles, tracks, scenery, and buildings.
• Model trains are generally more realistic than toy trains.
• Being involved in the hobby can range from simply the possession of a train set to spending many hours and large sums of money on a large and acurately replicated model of a railroad and the scenery.
• Participants in the hobby find enjoyment in collecting model trains, building landscape for the trains to pass through, and/or operating their own railroad.
