Ajax - I pinched my wife's plant marker pen, I cut out the white bits and then stippled over it again to try and colour the cut edges on the braces.

p.s I only use 1 dowel rod 1/4 inch diameter roll, glue, stick then reroll on your thigh or hand to get the circle back. After that put a former at each end if you can. You can also pull a long strip for rolling over a chair arm or table edge.

Thanks for the watercolor suggestion, Ash. I guess I'll just have to experiment with the different coloring methods until I figure out which one I'm most comfortable with and what works best in different situations. This looks like an area where there's no substitute for experience.

Thanks for the additional tips, Barry. I have to admit I'm a bit gunshy about trying to reroll something after applying the glue. What type of glue are you using during this process?

    Glue

Ajax - undiluted white PVA glue applied thinley to both gluing edges it has the advantage of not trailing thin bits of glue and dries transparently unlike UHU which shines on the card. It makes great butt joints, you might have to apply the glue with a cocktail stick more than once.

Thanks again, Barry. I guess I'll have to be real careful in making sure I don't apply too much.

I just had a few minutes and took time to go through Yuki Yuji's photo page and noted some models I missed before...

This amazing kit designer and builder has made not just the great ships you can currently find on his ALTOVS page, but also a Moskva, a Kiev, a Slava, CV 71 and a Spruance!

And the CV71 is chock full of air wings of Tomcats, Intruders and maybe some Hornets (just can't tell).

    Absolutely amazing!!

    Yuki Yuji:
Do you have the Ticonderoga class cruiser on your list of models to be offered on your site?
I recall seeing a flotilla of them in one of your photos, but didn't see it listed on the planned releases.
Would be a particularly nice one to see. :D

    Thanks, Yuki!
R/C submarine, huh? Very nice. A fellow in my ship modeling club has built those, and they look great. Good luck.
Speaking of luck, I hope you did well with the tests you were taking last month.
Take care, and thanks again for designing and making such great ship models!

Yuki you may want to check the link or file because I tried to download it and got an error message saying file is corrupted, and nothing was available from the zip file to be extracted.
