And now for something compleetly different..
I start building this model of the 'Albatros' from Jules Verne's novel 'Robur the Conqueror' from 1886
    It's a Czechoslvakian model published in 1982
I had it for a long time, got it from somebody who was selling out his Jules Verne collection.
The model is a bit rough, but the artwork is nice, immitating an old engraving, which suits the model well

I copied the original, wich was a little bit bigger than my A4 scanner, so I did the pages in half, for the most part no problem, only had to fit some long one together again

And the first of the ribs, rather ingenius, to double them up, Maybe I can even use this in a model I' designing myself.
But as you can see it's a bit rough, it looks complicated, but it' s easy to build.
    Cheers, Billy

Very interesting ship. And somehow different.

Will it have lots of rigging? Maybe is early to ask but, what will you use?

The first picture shows a lot of rigging, that's what I'll do. I'm gonna use the stuff they use on wooden shipmodels, it's more beautyfull and thicker then nomal sewingtread

wow!!! I bought this model a while ago, and your WIP pics are inspiring me to build it. FWIW, On ship models, I have found that rigging is far less difficult then I thought it would be, and far more enjoyable too.

Looking forward to the rest of the build,

    Sincerely,

    Jon

Just a confirmation; the ABC model and the Albatros Publication models are the same ones. The ABC is printed roughly 15% smaller than the original. I love the ABC collection; I'm slowly working my way through it...five done so far (the easy ones!). Haven't gotten to the Albatross yet, but after seeing this one in process, I may skip ahead!

The complete inside, it's very strong and clever to shape the hull like that..
