I'm starting a new thread, the building of Orlik's XP 55.
In the past I've build Nobi's XP 56 and XP 54, so I got the hole lot together..The instructions are in Polish but you can download English instructions from the Orlik website. The first sentence is "the model is considered rather difficult"
    :p . nice opening guys..

Well, to start, the nosecone is the first (and difficult) part . I got the impression that the parts sometimes don't fitt really well, I suppose it's one of those hand-drawn models.... Look mama.. no 3d computerprogram!
    Cheers, Billyaussie

I ran into some realy severe fitting problems, this gap shouldb't be there ,the formers are too big or the skinparts too small, hopefully I can cover it with the stabiliser..

Did the tail-end, still problems to get it right, it just doesn't fit realy well, so you easely mess it up and make smudges trying to get the parts in the right place..

Fitting problems like this can maybe be avoided by glueing the skinparts together before they are glued to the frame, instead of what I did, one by one..( It's a very close-up photo)

The upper part, sometimes it looks a bit messy, but I used super-glue, you won't see it anyway.
The instructions are not very clear, but looking at the drawings helps..

Just to show the things you run into; how to fill this gap?

After a lot of dry fitting; you have to curl the wingroot up , than it fits perfect, and looks well too..Pitty it says nothing about that in the manual..
BTW, Chris, my pet-elephant had a try.. no dent
