Can you design a n scale layout from this system map? It must have continuous running.
Monongahela junction and north bessemer are major yards, monongahela river, and room for steel mills (Edgar thomson, duquense, homestead, national), and all structures listed.
dark brown is higher elevation than light brown which has river grade.

Give it a try!

also, only 1 duckunder at the most!

4 steel mills in 11'x10'? A single steel mill will take up a lot of space. For example, Walthers claimed that their series of HO scale steel mill kits could produce a complete (selectively compressed) complex in 24 square feet. That's less than 8 square feet in N, which is still significant. Even if a double-deck plan is feasible, you won't be able to get this much in.

take a look at the 1st and 2nd annual layout planning contest in MR back in the mid 80's. The 1st dealt with a 8x9 room in HO I believe - great ideas for any scale. The 2nd one dealt with N scale and had to include specific items of furniture in the room such as couch, etc. If you need more info on these, just ask.
