My layout that I am in the process of building has a 3% grade on it. With only 11 cars hooked to the engine the wheels are slipping. Is there anything I can do to help this? At some point I am going to have two engines pulling this train will that help?

Mummert, using two powered engines will definately help. Also, make sure the track and loco wheels are clean and dry ( no oil or cleaner residue ). Another trick if you can do it, is to add weight to the loco. It also depends on the brand of the loco and if both trucks are driven. (assuming you are using diesels )

Also make sure the wheels on all of the cars are runnning free.
