As long as my family and pets were safe, I'd agree with saving my laptop. It has so much information on that I need that I would be in deep if it was destroyed. But if my family and pets weren't safe, I'd focus on rescuing them instead.

    Comment on what RocketmanTan said:

Alcohol burns really easily. I've even tested the watered down stuff you find at the pharmacy stores and it still burns fast (Ouch! My finger!). Dousing your models with alcohol or beer will probably make them burn first.

    hello,
The quilt my great aunt made me (she's gone, irreplaceable), my laptop (it's my lifeline, and used for work and personal stuff), my phone (extremely useful, but much more easily replaced), and maybe my backup drive (for the stuff I no longer keep on the laptop, but would love to keep).

I can't think of anything else that I'd immediately reach for. Other than my dog, but the original post said we're assuming everything living makes it out fine.

    thanks!!

Laptop/external hard drive. I'd say my cat, but she usually sleeps outside at night.

Well most of my toys are upstairs so they are pretty much screwed, but my R2-D2 is downstairs with a pretty clean shot to the door. So I'd say I would take him as he has kind of become a son for as long as I've been working on him.

I think as long as I'd grabbed the Mac. I'd be fine.

    Oh, the cat, too.

Probably a good idea to get the cat out.

    Fire

Jean Cocteau, who was asked this question, said that, while looking at all what he stored in his house over years, he would leave with the fire itself.
