What is this?

What exactly is this?? It was sitting at the end of a siding on the Zionesville Industrial spur. It looks like a glorified weed-eater? Is that all it is? Seems elaborate for that...... Is it just used to clear brush and limbs?

Thats what it is a big weed eater. Saw one working down here not long ago.

Yes it is - it's kind of like a cuisinart on a long arm. It can probably shread trees up to about 4 inches in diameter too... Scary thing to see in action!
