Hi folks,, down here in Traction land it can get a little frustrating trying to find power units to buy .
So we have to do a bit of building ,, or have very little to run.

Here is a project that I am putting together, and helping Glen get into scratch building
This is what we started with..
1 coach shell cut down to 55 scale feet
1 Atheran switcher
1 white metal interurban end
and a Pantograph
Also lights ect will be added..

WE strip the motor ,,
Cut out the fuel tank.
and build a brass frame out of brass channel to fit inside the coach
( you may have to take 1/16th off each side of the white metal truck holder so as to fit inside the body)
and mount the white metal wheel holders and mount the gear box`s back in .
then make sure all free wheels O K on the track.

Thanks Ray,
I decided to cut windows in my coach instead of fitting a new front as Glen did.
also I make my own snow plows. The body is fitted to the brass frame by drilling small holes in the lower body and matching it with holes in the brass Frame. Then solder 1.16th pins (wire) into frame and then snap the body in place.

More later.

Someone was asking where all the "builders" were...might I direct your attention here?

Chris, in choosing "traction" you put yourself in a position where your choices of motive power is very limited. Having to innovate is not easy but you seem to have a superb talent for it and sure come up with superb models. This latest project of yours has me in awe of the tollerances you work to (which have to mechanically work!).
Great tutorial a super finished model! .
