I am working on a web page for my Ho scale Delaware and Western railroad which is a connecting route of the d&H and WM which never existed. I would like to post a link to my site so everone can enjoy my work. I will also be posting shots of our scenery work which is in progress. My question is where should I post the link ??? I also have a suggestion that we start a new forum or area where modelers can post url's to there home layouts. This will keep them togather where it is easier to find and also modelers who do not look at the other scales will still see the pages. Just a suggestion

 Thanks For the Time

Hi jlg,

first of all welcome to the Gauge! :)

You can edit your personal profile and enter your homepage address:

Click the button 'user cp' at the head of every Gauge webpage --> you're carried to the 'User Control Panel for jlg759'. Then click on 'Edit Profile' and enter your address in the 'Homepage' field. Finally click 'Submit Modifications' at the bottom of this page and you're done.

From now on every user who hits the 'profile' button at the bottom of any of your posts will be carried to the page where (among other data) your URL is shown. (This way you can also find the website of any other Gauge member.)

On the other hand, you might even include your address in the signature like Mike already suggested.

On this subject, I put my web address in my signature, but it doesn't appear as a link. How do I make it a clickable link? In the "forum rules" it shows that "HTML" is off. Does this have anything to do with it?

A Link in the Signature!

Blake, I just found out, how to do it.

Go to the edit profile page. In the signature field you can add your link in the following format - but you must replace the pointed brackets '<' and '>' by angled ones: '[' and ']'. If I would put them into the following line, they wouldn't show since for the computer they work as a command (namely to put in a link - what else? :) :) :))

<URL=http://xxxx-yourlink-xxxx>Your Text in the signature</URL>

So in your case this would be:
<URL=http://BlakeDTatar.com> http: //BlakeDTatar.com</URL>

Next time you load a thread with one of your posts you'll find your link underlined - and best of all: It works! :D :D :D
(At least it did with my signature, as you can check below)

Wanted to add this link for quite some while, but then I forgot, until your post made me try again! Thanks - it's a profit for both of us (and perhaps for some more  )
