When I say we,

I mean from left to right John (Human Resource Manager Toronto yards and beyond)
Myself , Brian, Jim Bruce and Wayne aka Doc .
After meeting up for lunch we started our very informative tour, me son Adam who has worked there for 18months joined us.
It was a blast.

The second photo is from the tower /hump controll, they had track maintenance going on in the west end so the hump was down for a while, so no movement to show ya just a shot or two.
We then started at the car repair shop.
Look at the grass growing on that flatbed!

We had a great opportunity to pick Johns brains re retrucking freight cars.
We then looked over the fueling area where my favorite SOO line was being pampered

I'm not saying that I don't like watching the Union Pacific trains in my part of the world, but it sure is nice to see something different every so often.

Good pictures! Looks like you got the grand tour :)

Over to the Diesel Mechanical shop.

The Grinder was in the car shop.

That is a generator from a yard engine being refitted

8250 was looking like new, Doc liked that!!

Close look at a yard switch throw

On my 4 previouse yard tours you will find the deisel shop well documented.

So out side we go to find a CN coupled up to a CP. this left the yards while we where
there.
Then we got inside 9705 , for a water break and a look at the cockpit sign1

We spent a lot of time here:D :D :D :D

Well I took a lot of pictures, but I will end it here with a few more pictures inside the cab.
Hoping Wayne can throw some pictures and comments to finish this off.

There is Wayne sat down talking to Bruce.
That old coach is a must to model.

Now that balck metal structure is for realigning lumber that may have shifted , I have never seen one before!! It`s been there since the yard was built. DUH!! I just found itsign1

Hope you enjoyed.
If you have a yard near you phone them and ask for a tour.
You never know your luck.:thumb:

Canada, eh?
Chris, your pictures turned out well, but it'll be a while 'til I get to see mine: this steam-powered computer doesn't have enough oomph to retrieve them from the camera. A new computer and a scanner coming when the reno project is finished.:thumb:
All you Gauge members out there, as Chris says, see if you can arrange for a yard tour in your own area: I found it very enjoyable (and John made sure that it was very informative). And I finally got to meet some more Gauge members.:D A great day all around, and well worth the drive.

Now as a fellow Canuck who lives just West down the CN line - I am disappointed I was tied up that day and couldn't join you. The photos and narrative semi made up for it.
Hopefully next time I'll be able to meet you and join in the fun.
