Ways of turning off an engine without hurting it??

    Use your shoe or boot to stop the flywheel and NOT your fingers or hand.

    I have also just seen a new product at the local hobby shop to use to plug the tuned pipe outlet that is neat. No more burnt fingers or oil covered hands.

    I think you should put your toungue on the muffler while pinching the fuel line, and at the same time put your foot on the flywheel. Be shure to close your eyes so no dirt gets in there. Once it is stopped pull the air filter out and turn it over to get all the dirt out of the filter and back into your engine where it belongs. Ha HA HA HA :)

    pinching the fuel line is best. because if you call any manufacturer they will tell you the same. it also tells you how the low speed needle is tuned. by pinching the fuel line it should take 3 to 5 seconds to turn off for a correctly tuned carberator. if it takes longer than 5 sec. it is two rich, if less than 3 sec. it is two lean!!!
