I seem to have gone out of sequence but I will try to rectify the missing links now.

028-029. This pertain to the building of the front cabin and the use of thick laminates for the bulkheads. The rear section is boxed in. The other series are the building of the seats

This out of sequence is due to my taking the Sim out of the camera and returning it to take more pictures, so it defaulted to the lower number and threw my sequence off. I hate when those things happen.wall1

Patoroch has some wonderful models but with a bit more info from GW, you can enhance the details. This little skimmer is coming together real nice and I am please how it is turning out. I will post some more photos as soon as I get them back in sequence again. The model at this stage is almost finished. I am now in the process of making the weapons section. As with the Sentinel, the scale is almost approximate to the original.

Here are a few more updates. The captions in the photos are enough info for now. The console, the pipes, the bottom plate and the end covers to the pipes are all scratched built, and the nose bumpers on the original are recessed in, in this case, they are laminated and are raised. I believe that from this stage on, the photos should be back in synchrony.:wave::wave:

More pictures of the Land Speeder.

    13. Mixing the colors to match.

    14. The top scoop has the grill cut off, laminated and recessed inside the top scoop.

    15. These access panels are missing from Patoroch's kit.

    16. Scratched the bottom pipes and covers.

I will be back shortly after I do the captions for the next batch of photos.:wave::wave:

    Continuing with the Landspeeder.

a31. Cut and laminated the side rear access doors. Cut out the windows and blackened the background.

a32. On the top air scoop, Scratched built the panels like on the GW version. Patoroch has three raised panels unlike the GW version of two recessed sections in the top panel.

a33. The wind fairing is laminated and has a tab to insert into the cut slits as shown.

a34. The wind fairing is attached at the slit points. This gives it more strength and can handle the table top usage.

a35. Place the laminated front armor plate.

a36. The rear wings are attached but the angle edge to the rear instead of the front, similar to the GW version.

Coming along nicely, and more to come. See you all later.:wave::wave:

    more update photos.

first pic. Placed the rear wings with the angle to the rear GW style. Patoroch has the angle to the front.

a38. Scratched built the fins and placed them in the cut out section.

a39-a40. Using a round tool slightly smaller than the fan roundel, rolled a strip around it to the size of the fan circle. The fan out line was glued to the end of the exhaust tube.

a41. Bottom heat exchanger are placed on extending past the rear on line with the exhaust ports.

a42. Scratched built the pipes and the cooling grills.

Just a few more photos to go, see you next posting.:wave::wave:

Just adding some more details and coloring. It is coming along very nicely.

a43. Started on the bumper attachments, also notice the gun bar made from a q-tip paper stick.

a45. Laminated the bumper guards one strip at a time to maintain the curvature.

a47. Painted the pipes and cooling vents.

a48. Added the pads but I rounded then on the top instead of square.

Almost finished, just bear with me a while longer. See you all next posting:wave::wave::wave:

And the Imperium will have another speeder soon enough.

First Pic, is the gun attachment and the bumper pads colored in.

a51. The bottom sensor array system was made with a one piece paper stick the length of the unit. This gives it more strength than trying to layer it on.

a52. The sensor array system is colored in.

a53-a54. The base is made by laminating a series of disc and using a paper stick with buttressed ends to attach it to the base and to the speeder

Have to work on some more captions for the next series of photos, see you all then.:wave::wave:

Nearing the end of this one. The sensor array is done and here are some photos of the Landspeeder without the Marines.

a58. This frontal driver/pilot side sensor/cannon was the hardest part to build. I attempted to scratch build it and it has a lot of small angles to negotiate. I did it twice and settled for this one.

Overall the Speeder is finished but there are a few more details to add on. The frontal undercarriage gatling is next and some small items. See you next posting.:wave::wave:

Thanks for your comments guys. If you want to build or re build. Go to GW or white Dwarf to get more reference pictures. While Patoroch does a fantastic job in the design, It is just the basics. The whole undeside is totally different in the GW and other areas as well. As mentioned in the bveginning, this is a crossover between Patoroch's and GW design. I enjoyed building this little guy. The stand is different from both designers in that it can be shorten to give your skimmer different heights, and a paper stick is easier to build than to repair the plastic version.

The under weapon (Gatling) is finished. The barrel were made from toothpicks and the main receiver was laminated to the desired thickness. The mounts were also laminated to give it strength. As made, this land speeder can take the constant abuse of table top gaming without the fear of it being crushed while handling.

Brilliant build mate, I'll have to tackle some of the Marine stuff myself once I've got my IG under control. The only thing missing is pilots, but I'll bet the stock figures would work well.

Thanks Tirick. The reason I made this thread Warhammer Armor and things, is that there is no specific army items. It will encompass any model that is available from the Warhammer universe. Orks, Imperial, Marines. Eldar if I can find or copy an original grav tank. Right now I in the process of doing the Tau Pihrana. I will start posting as soon as I feel comfortable. It does have some compound curves that I am trying to integrate with Patoroch's design. If this works out, then the Eldar vehicles should be do-able. See you around in the forums.

    Tau Pirhana

Here is a teaser for my next venture. I incorporated a another one of my techniques from my days of styrene scratch building and it came out rather well. If this Tau skimmer comes out OK, It will help me in developing those compound curvatures of the Eldar Grav Tanks. Patoroch's version is a cross between the old and new version, but I opted to accomplish the old version without the Top.

Here are a couple of pics of the Pirhana. The old version and the new version. As mentioned earlier. Patoroch's design are basic but detailed enough to be built as is. It is in me to scratch and bash around a bit. His models are great and his armor tanks are right on. I just happened to pick the hard ones out of the lot to build.

    Tau Pirhana

Here we go again, with another Patoroch production done my way.

    1. Laminated three bulkheads and a laminated nose platform. With the bulkheads laminated, there is no need for the tabs. Same goes for the nose platform. With a file, I sanded off the nose angle to the contour of the curve.

    2. Two more thickly laminated side panels, this will become apparent later when you need to contour the rounded shape of the frontal glacis. A strip was place at the edge of the cockpit for adhesion of the center bulge later on.

    3. Rounding off the edges with a jewels file to get that rounded touch.

    4. The top of the cab was trimmed off and the track looking section was cut off. I made three incisions on the edge pulling to the center, about 1/4 inch (US). to allow for the curvature of the nose. The extra extension will come in handy later when the nose is closed off.

    5. Here the center hump is placed into position and you can see the extra protrusion.

    6. Cut an incision on both sides of the protrusion and folded the smaller tabs inward and the center piece down and under the front of the nose.

This is a one and a half plans page and has less parts than the Land Speeder but it has some interesting curves that need care and some more small details not covered in the plans or the original instructions. So stick around for more updates and see you all soon.:wave::wave:

    More on that Tau skimmer.

1rst picture and 008,- I placed the instrument cluster into the cockpit. The under cooler grill had the sharp edges trimmed off and made it more rounder.

    009. The under grill is glued on. in this picture you can see where the hodd extension was folded over.

    010. Initial paint scheme. Attached the frontal sensor array system.

    011. Attached the rear box. I left it as is but the GW version has two separate boxes.

    012. Re-drew the lines. The lines will be redone various times in this build due to unforeseeable fit problems.

More to come. All the parts are done and just a few details left to do but that will come in the following posts.:wave::wave:

    017. Regular weight paper from the plans sheet is inserted into the notch.
