Imperial Drop Ship/Shuttle Craft

Here are some more updates on the Drop Ship/Shuttle craft. This still in the beta mode and I am building and texturing it as I go. As soon as I finish the beta mode I will do a full build thread on it. Usually I do not stat a build thread unless the model is almost finished, this is an exception to my rules. Last time I attempted this, I ran into some problems and never finished the model, but overall, it is coming along nicely. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

The top array and greebles are done. Next installment will be on the underside. The graphics on the sides is just temporary, I may give panel choices and more imperial symbols in the final cut. Enjoy and see you all around the forums.

OH MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Gimme Gimme Gimme...I love it.

It is coming soon to an upload in your neighborhood, It still has some more details to go. The ramp needs an opening mechanism, the front plates are coming up and the engines are on their way.

The bottom is done minus the landing skids. I am deliberating whether to make it a flying brick as in the Puddle Jumper from Star Gate or to give it wings and twin tails. I will ponder it some more but any ways, here are some more updates. The fit problems are minimal and require some small stuff trimming and patching.

Here are a few pics of the engine. I spent a while in designing them. I used some of the schematics from Patoroch's Thunderhawk's engine. The tubing and details are from electrical wires. This engine is done but the next one will be a detailed build. The engine is a model by itself as a stand alone. The engine mount is from my Cherry Blossom kamikaze guided bomb. Enjoy and see you all next posting, now to work on how to mount them on the Drop ship/Shuttle craft.

The engines seem to take some time to design and build, even with Patoroch's parts. but here is a build sequence for the second engine. At the bottom I used a crimper for the corrugated look but you can place the piece flat as is.

Keep in mind that I am modifying extremely the Thunderhawk engine and cutting off a section so that it will not be overly long. but the same procedure can be accomplish for the Thunderhawks engine. See you all next posting.

More updates on the engine build. The photos are a bit on the low quality but I should get my camera back soon and take better photos.

Those engines are stunning; really all of the work presented here is, but they stand out both in their exceptional detail and the fact that the detail was reproduced manually with such close precision.

Phenomenal post with the engine.
really great work.
Thanks for documenting and posting. Keep it up.

Thanks guys. I only regret that the pictures were low quality but I will get back to the engines later, but here is the tail section. The idea for them, came from the marauders tail section and that of a C-123 Provider. You can use the tail section from Patoroch's design as well except that his has a double tail section at the end of the aileron tips. I tend to laminate the parts to thickness but you can box it in with edges and center supports. My way is more sturdy and can take more punishment.
