The Alabama and Florida Railway has an ex-Santa Fe Geep that is in really good condition. Here it is westbound at Sanford, Alabama. The ICG car was the only car in the train. Probably not a very profitable run, but still good to see something running.

3069 is a GP20R, according to my trusty copy of Diesel Locomotive Rosters which gives a build (rebuild?) date spanning 1978-1981.

Thanks, Ralph. I'm glad they left it in its original paint and didn't try to do a patch job on it.

Pete, thanks for the info on 3069. The people who rebuilt it probably never thought it would end up on a short line in Alabama.

The most noticiable spotting feature of the gp20 is the sloping short hood. Later models like the gp30 on used a flat short hood. This is on "low nosed" models of course. A high nose gp anything will be flat on top.
