Well...I have just resurrected the shattered remnants of my ISD project with the intention of re-awakening it! Early days yet, but I think I can resist the pull of the Dork Side. Lucas will not overpower me

I was wondering the same thing... it's one thing to throw a few game models into pep, it's a completely different ballgame to turn them into buildable paper models, otherwise I would have a full fleet of Eve Online ships by now. :D

Good luck though Anon, if you can pull some of these off, you will be very popular around here indeed. :thumb:

Jafffro is EXACTLY right .... it is not as simple as just importing to Pepakura and pressing the 'unfold' button! That has been done on a few models I havedonwloaded, and th eresults are not buildable with any degree of real success. You get odd bits, intersections, tiny pieces that can't be made to glue like htey should ... all that sort of thing!

I have a standing rule with every model I upload here .... if I can't build it first, then it isn't ready! ~That way you find out all the little issues, the unfeasably tricky bits, and the parts that are just plain wrong. As a result, I would use a mesh like this as a starting point, but would probably have to re-make a lot of it for a good buildable model. Thats why people build up huge collections of meshes, but never get around to unfolding them! It's a lot of work. :p

    Nothing,

Some as I see it, are buildable, like the helmets, vehicles and the starships BUT others especially the characters, in some instances are not.

What I meant is, these SWBF characters are taken while in their animated pose, therefore some of the vertices overlap each other. These overlaping vertices can be joined together so that there are no faces that are loose when Pepakura unfold them.

    DarthPineapple,

Yes, most of the animated characters that you saw in the sample ie. Maul, Vader, Yoda, Stormtroopers, clonestroopers, Tauntaun, Rancor, Battledorid etc were extracted from SWBF II.

I used 3D ripper DX. You can read more by clicking this link:

    http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/3DRipperDX.htm

I recalled that this particular software and its other equivalent OpenGL thingy had been discussed in the forum before, but I can't seemed to find it now. Anybody else can recalled where?

    FlareBaffled & Jaffro,

Both of you are PARTLY right. Some models I won't take my time to do because they will take a lot of work. BUT some others, I still think they are buildable.

Why not for a start, I will try to do the Stormtrooper in the first group of photos that I sent, and report to you my progress once it is done.

Along the way, if I encounter any problem, then I will report them too.

But give me time to realise this since I am currently on 2 work shift that makes my free time very, very limited.

    Regards.
