Ha! You think that's gross go check out rotten.com I made that mistake once
WOW! That was a nasty bite you got there. Glad to see its healed up and you're able to start building again :thumb:
Keep up them exercises.
Okay guys, I got the go ahead from Getter1 to post these pics in the thread. This is a work in progress of the VF-1A from DYRL. Getter was more than generous in sending me this one for a beta build of sorts. While I did stall on it the building shall resume shortly! This will have the Strike pack with the cannon on the right side when done.
Weird not getting auto updates on this thread, didn't realise so many replies had come winging in.
If any one can get me screen caps of the launch arm I'll give it a go and try to get one sorted for this project.
Janx on the Launch Arm to
With my hand back in action vacation is over for you Buwaaahahahahaha!!!!!
Alrighty, the Striker Cannon has been built and installed on the test Battroid.
Beautiful, that's all I can really say. I'm so happy, that I'm sad
Getter1-Dude you put me to shame with your building ability. I bow to your skills! :inw:
I have two working hands and yet... practice practice practice...
I'll dig out my DYRL vid today see if I can find the launch arm shots.
Hey janx, I have the DYRL movie book that has the screen caps and 2 line drawings of that arm. The screen capture shots are too dark to be usable, but the line drawings might help. The only problem is I don't have a flatbed scanner!:curse: I think 57townsman has the same book AND a scanner. I sent him a PM about this same that same thing a few days ago, maybe a little peer pressure might help?
57townsman-I hope I didn't overstep my bounds here. Just rying to give Janx a little more info for the arm. He would design it WAY better than I ever could.
Janx, I had a thought here, I took pics of the two line drawings from my book. While not as good as a scan maybe they can help with the overall shape and placement of parts? As far as color goes, I can pull my movie out and look plus take a look in the bookwith a bright light. I wish I could be of more help here.
Extremely cool. Great work so far everyone. :thumb:
I whipped up a GU-11 Gunpod in the closed position last night to mount on the Fighter model. I printed out the un-textured version for the test unit. fits and looks good, however the stand for a gear up model will have to be notched to accomidate the Gunpod.
Getter, how do you roll those tubes so well? What weight paper are you using for that? I have 65lb cardstock I used on my model, but I just can't seem to get the rolling quite right. What I'm saying in a backwards way is, you kick A** when it comes to building!:thumb:
All in 65lbs. stock here to.
Start rolling your tube parts over a dowel larger than tyhe diameter of the tube. Re-roll on a smaller tube and progress down to smaller than the part diameter. Apply glue to the tab and lighty set it. when it begins to grab and is alligned properly press lighty tight with needle nose pliers. For tubes too small for that have your final tube inside and press on the dowel to firm up the seam.
Oh do you have details on weapon mounts in that book of yours I need what I can get on the wing mounted weapons hardpoints if you got em.
