This is one of my latest cars I recieved from in the mail from e-bay. When I got it and took it out of the packaging, I noticed that the car was heavyer that a normal car with weights. I opened it up and found this stuff in the pictures below. Anyone have any ideas or clues on what this thing is?? There is a hole cut out in the bottom of the car floor with a switch to turn something on or off but it dosn't work.

What it does is makes a sound like a mechanical reefer running.
Is the black wire from the battery connected? I can't tell from the photo.

By the looks of it, it must be homemade.With parts made from Radio Shack(Isn'tArcher a Radio Shack item?).

lol, there is a 555 IC in there. i remember them because when i was younger i used to tinker with that radioshack electronics learninglab. Never did figure those IC out, but i bet if i did, i could build my own sound decoders, lol.
unfortunately, radioshack no longer sells individual parts except in stand alone radioshack stores. if its attached to a mall, the seperate parts are no longer there.

I'm sure the article was in RMC about 15-20 years ago. I bought all the bits (including the 555) but never put it together as the fellow whose layout we operated on moved.
I remember those, that's gotta be one of those mechanical reefer sound modules...turn it on, turn it on, I wanna hear it:thumb: .
Im going to open it back up and make sure the battery isn't dead and make sure the wires are all connected. Ill let u guys no how it goes!!
