It is time. Time to accept my fate and enter the challenge. My desktop has finally been cleared of all other projects and is finally empty enough to start the mighty X-Wing by mastermind UHU02.

Bear with me as progress might be slower than most of your builds, but I will do my best to document my build with all the struggles and little victories.

    YEAH!! :D
    Great! ;)
Building a UHU02 model is a GREAT experience! I can assure you you will enjoy a lot this adventure and nothing will be as difficult as it can appear at first sight. The great precision of the shapes and the perfect fit of the parts are the main feature of Great Master's works. It will be a pleasure for you to build and for us to follow! Have a nice time! thumbsup

oh, by the way, i cheated and had mine printed on 11 x 17 paper. the 8 1/2 by 11 was too small for fumblefingers me...

Would be funny to see both builds starting to form parallel. But be careful with the upscale, I thought about upscaling too by factor 2, but from what I understand in other build threads and UHU02's instructions, the paper thickness plays a great role in several parts.

Use good Judgment on Paper thickness, and realize that a lot of that can be adjusted on the fly, just take into account your reference point. If you double the size of a bulk head, take material off each side of the slot by the same amount. Vice versa. In doing this, you will have no problems, and if you cut right inside the lines, you will have a much cleaner model, but that means doing it on every single part. Good luck, you will achieve your goal. ;)

i have to post everything that i've gotten done so far. ran into a snag right now. i can't get the instructions section #10 to download, keeps sending me back to UHU's homepage. got all the other pages but that one. it's the main body section. the paper is 60lb that i'm using. kind of feels like plastic but its paper.

Go to page 11 and you will see that you can go back to page 10 with no problems.

thanks rhaven, that work.. oh and Nero, when your cutting out parts #37 to 48. watch on one side is straight and the other has a slight angle 3/4 of the way in then straight to the end. i all most missed in when i was cutting.

If you can't get some Instructions, use the "PRT SCN" button, then paste the image into Paint, I use XNView. You can capture the whole page, in segments, or any other page that appears on your screen. :)

    Link XNView = http://www.xnview.com/en/

Yeah, I nearly missed that! Was about to put the metal ruler against it to make cutting easier and noticed the slight angle.

Right now, the two x-mechanisms are finished and working, now making the center axis and the rest of the wing frame, pictures will follow later.

    Finally, first progress!

I'm actually totally hyped by the way UHU constructed the model and how it comes together so smooth. And my maniac thrive for acuracy paid off. Can't wait to continue!
