Somewhere here I read that one large publisher typically prints only 1000-1500 of a kit per run. That part does not surprise me, as that probably lasts a while. What I wonder is that do they typically reprint at some point, or will that kit generally go out of print?

Anyone have a feel for this "lifetime" of a kit, if you will? Some of you guys have been around for years and have seen kits come and go. My concern now that I'm getting interested in printed kits is that if I see a certain subject I really like, but know it's either too advanced for me right now or if my build queue is already quite long, what's the likelyhood of it being unavailable down the road? My gut response is to just buy them, as I have already done for a couple that I know I won't get to for a while. But you can take this too far I suppose, spending lots of money in the process. At least they don't take much storage room!

How do you folks approach this situation?
