I had a christmas layout up, but it has a pair of Bachmann Ez track crossovers in an oval. one of them causes a short if any locomotive tries to run through it. this doesn't happen when i run on DC.

I have a prodigy express system. I'm aware of the power routing feature of the turnouts, which i left the frogs connected to, and so whenever i'd try and change the switch points they'd short, and i thought that was the problem, but it was only half the problem. even though i disconnecteded the frogs, it still shorts out when any of my DCC locomotives ( be it my AEM-7 or my Challenger) tries to crossover to the other track.

Is there anyway i can get that to run smoothly while the tree is still up?
