This is the thread were I will be posting my weathered engines as I do them.
UP C44-9W (Dash 9) - #9711
Lets start out with my second engine I bought, the UP C44-9W or Dash 9 who weres road number 9711. This one has a all-over weathereding job. I highlighted the various grills by soaking the area in black wash. I have also added fuel spill to the fuel tanks and weathered the trucks, wheels, and couplers.

AAWWWWW, That's better, NO MORE CLEANNESS lol
Nice engine Trucklover!:thumb: Personaly, I like my engines nice and clean, so NO TOUTCHIE MY F3 YOU HEAR!?!!sign1
Nice job! As only a suggestion...you may want to touch some of the truck areas with some black or dark chalk. That might bring out some of the fine detailing that your diesel has. I think you did a really nice job. I think the rust on the trucks looks great.
Thanks CNW, I have 4 CNW Dash 9's that are next on the list to get weathered up :thumb:
Not even a little weathering? What about just doing the fuel tankssign1
Looking good Josh! Look forward to seeing those CNW AC4400s weathered
Thanks for the input on doing the truck areas with some chalk
I did just get some chalk the other day and going to start chalk weathering to, now I know were to start :thumb:
Thanks Steven, but the CNW's are C44-9W's (Dash 9's)sign1 sign1
Ok, for some reason I thought they were AC4400s, dunno why. I even thougth of them being C44-9Ws after I posted. Sorry! Either way, I look forward to it
Awesome! I plan to look foward to that! But as for my F3, I think it looks better without any weathering, actualy. That and you'd be in trouble for breaking and entering.
sign1 sign1 Na, I wouln't do that, cause you can't have trains in jail, man life would suck there :thumb:
NICE JOB JOSH!:thumb: that engine certainly looks well used. -Deano
Keep it up Josh!!!!!:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Kato BN SD70MAC - #9615
Bout time I updated this thread huh? Been a while.
Anyways, here is my new Kato BN SD70MAC that I got from the group buy from Combat. He had an extra one so I bought it from him and just got it yesterday. I put the details on it and then weathered her up. Here is what she looks like now using chalks for the shell and black/grey washes for the chassis and trucks:
O and don't mind the glazed over windows, forgot to cover them when I sprayed dullcoat on Have to clean those now lol
Wow, looks dirty.
You need one of these.
