You would think that would be the hardest set to name over the past twenty years. However as it turned out it wasn't.

    And the winner is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lionel's no. 31960, an O gauge model of the heavyweight passenger train featured in the motion picture The Polar Express. [IMG] This best-seller set came out in 2004, when The Polar Express hit movie theaters everywhere.

Why do they believe it's the most "significant?"
Because it saved Lionel from going into the tanker?

Actually the set received that distinction from a group of train writers.

Well, I understand that part but why did they decide it was the "most significant?" Was it because it was a trainset that was modeled after a kid's movie? Was it because it besicly rejuvinated the model train industry for Lionel? Does it have some cool new feature that every other train must now have or be considered inferior? What made them decide this train was the "most significant?"

Pretty easy every kid wanted it and it brought more new train buyers into the market place than any other train.
