Looks like an M model! Thanks Nobi!
Jimmy Thach's airplane?
or maybe Butch O'Hare's
Why is Butch O'Hares father famous? No, the airport was named after Butch not his father...,
"Easy Eddie" was reputed to be an attorney for Al Capone. Rumour was that he snitched to the Feds and helped to convict Al for tax evasion. His reward was typical for gangland era Chicago..., gunned down in the streets. Butch redeemed the family name with his WWII heroism.
That's the story I heard. But as far as I'm concerened what Butch did would have redemmed anyone even Al Capone!
Cecil, absolutely correct. Now for a question regarding the O'Hare dedication plaque. It is in close proximity to what facility at the airport?
Oh gosh I can't afford anything other than Southwest so I never see it. But the Midway memorial right next to Southwest checkin is very nice.
above picture of beta build is Colonel James E. Swett version
also have O'Hare version too...3 versions inside kit and will available soon
Cool Nobi! I am looking forward to these........... blue birds with big ole radial engines are something I can not get enough of!
Gil, since leaving the Windy City back in the sixties I ain't been back. Been there, done that, got frost bite! I'll have to let some other triva buff come up with the answer on that one. I really, really do not miss the snow!
Here's one.......... how many CMH winners flew this much maligned "cat"?
If you haven't ever been there this is one of those impossible ones. It's in a very quiet part of the airport that hardly anyone ever visits except in a time of mental crisis...,
downscale into 1/72 in 2nd testbuild and everything go very well, i love this small wildcat 8)
We're loving it too, Nobi!
Hope this will be released soon, she looks sweet!
