donnie: do you mean the telegraph poles at the side of the track?
I've always felt that these were quite low. It often seems that theye were made just high enough that the teenagers couldn't grab the wires.
I noticed across the prairies (wheere you can see it better) that the wires go along low for a mile then rise up when they have to cross a road.
