Switching the aggregate plant

Ralph

Remember...it's for fun!
A PC GP38 in the rare orange "C" scheme sets out a pair of open hoppers at Hedberg Aggregates. This industry is modelled after one in my home town of Mt. Marion, NY but bears the Hedberg name because I liked their logo. This is an actual company in the Twin Cities. Clipping their ad out of the phone book furnished the sign on the structure. I had a couple of shots left on a roll so I took pics of this action...back in time circa Summer, 1973. :)

A closer view of the structure which is scratchbuilt from cardboard and covered with scribed siding. The conveyors are a Walthers kit mixed in with some scrap parts. The odd shaped hopper on the right was a local landmark and one of those things that attracted my attention to trains as a boy.
