Sumpter Ave. Lift Bridge

A year or two ago Pete, aka Sumpter, posted pics of his excellent bridges. One was a lift bridge that made me want to build one for my layout. I've used pieces of various bridge kits, found in the back room of my LHS for a couple of bucks a piece, to build this lift bridge (or at least, half a bridge) that comes off the edge of my layout to cross a river. Finally the people at my steel mill can get to work...and more importanly get back home!

Another view with Kings Port Steel in the background. I still need to weather the bridge's base and wash some "water" and small waves around it to plant it in the river. Thanks for posting those pics a while back Pete. They were great inspiration!
