Why are you trying to avoid soldering? It is the best connection you can make, and also the cheapest. It is not hard to do - a little practice might be in order though...
If you do want to go for the suitcase connectors, try looking for the Scotchlock type at your local big box hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc).
