Success!!! Went up to Nanaimo again a couple weeks ago, and the photos turned out. A pair of GP38's pull a short freight just north of Nanaimo.

Saw one of these pulling a train through Nanaimo when I was there at Xmas playing disc golf. The track goes right by if you're on or near the eighth hole. Pretty kewl.
