Thanks for the technical help. Yes I see and understand the aerodynamics of the blades. I added the extra extended edge (Aileron) at the end of the blade to compensate for the lift, but I forgot to make that angled end which is also used to compensate for the lack of lift at the tip. But regardless, the mechanic spirit of the Imperium assured that the machine will fly by having faith in the Omisiah Mehanicus.

Thanks for your support Zathros. When I build a model, I usually try to make it seem viable, even if it is a make believe model.

I seem to be spending a lot of time in the details development for this version. It is almost done as a stock model and soon I will start with the weapons options.

Here are some more updates on the model. The details is what makes the model. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

It humbles me to think that some one thinks I am smart. I just think of it as having common sense.

Thanks for the comment Lucius, I am glad that you have enjoyed the build threads.

And now, I am almost at the near completion of the Helicopter version. Here are some more photo updates on the Space Marine Chopper.

This really reminds me of building helicopter, visually that is. I like this model. You models are so awesome there no way I can say "I like this one the best", especially after your stage coach, buggies, chariots, but of this genre, I think this one is my favorite. I think because of the extrapolated in my mind, the rotors are too short, also, so you know, the reason they are bent back in the front is is to maximize the total area of lift as you said, and the bend back forms a delta wing of sorts. I attached a picture of what I thought would be a more balanced look, just for the heck of it. I lengthened the main rotor and the tail rotor blades. Your model stands fine the way it is, this was just some doodling around. I hope you don't mind. :)

My first idea for the rotors.as to make it long as you showed in the photo. The reason I did not go for the long blades, was because of the tail rotor. I Originally I was going to enclose the rear rotor in a ring like the Aloutte's, I do not think the enclosed and sleek look of the enclosed rotor would fit in the 40K universe, so I left it exposed. I could have lowered the rear rotor as well but the way I made it, it stood the chance of engaging the main rotor, which is the reason for the short blades. BTW, the elongated blades do look good

I think the BLackhawk Main rotor tips are like 2.8" inches away from the tail rotor tips!! They never hit though because when there is any lift applied the blades themselves lift so high they are way further apart. The Blackhawk Tail rotor is also tilted to help lift the tail end up. Like I wrote earlier, your model looks great and needs nothing. When I see models I like, I always end up comparing them to the real thing, in this case a real helicopter. Excellent job! :)

Knowing a bit about your aerospace background, I appreciate your comments on my builds. I still have a problem choosing which model I like best myself. As for the 40K universe, There are still many models to make, imagine or design.

The helicopter is supposed to have a chin mounted gatling as an option but then, those can be added later on. I think that I will leave it as is for now since I have to get on with something else outside the Sci Fi world, but I will be back to 40K again. I still have to finish that drop ship. Here are some more photos for your enjoyment and see you all at the ships forum after the next posting.:wave::wave:

The helicopter turned out beautiful. If I were still in the Army, I would have loved to have been dropped off at an infiltration site with one of these taking me there. or seeing one coming in to pick me up after a mission.

As for your trio, that is an AWSOME bit of fire power that you have.
I am looking forward to seeing the forth addition to this set.
